I think between instant articles and the pivot to video and all of the ways platforms distort engagement, more and more will be once burned, twice shy about giving platforms more free content. My substack breaches 50% open rates occasionally, visibility that is basically impossible on Facebook. Each open is consent.

fully agree it is going to be super tough to attract folks whenever it comes out b/c of their history of torched goodwill.
